Day trips from Imsouane
When the ocean goes flat or you need a change of scene: coastal towns, surf villages and markets within reach.

The coast between Essaouira and Agadir is wild and beautiful. A few ideas for flat days, all reachable in a day — check distances and travel times locally, as they vary.
Essaouira
A walled port town with blue boats, ramparts, art galleries and a relaxed medina. Wander the souks, eat grilled fish at the harbour stalls and walk the long beach. Windy, which is why kitesurfers love it.
Taghazout
Morocco's best-known surf village, south along the coast, with a string of point breaks and a lively café scene. Good for seeing a different side of Moroccan surf culture — and for surf shops if you need gear.
Agadir
A modern resort city with a long promenade, big markets (the souk is worth an afternoon) and the ruined kasbah on the hill with wide views over the bay.
Tamri and the coast road
Between Imsouane and Taghazout, the road passes banana plantations, dunes and empty beaches. Stop at viewpoints along the way.
Argan country
The region is home to the argan tree. Women's cooperatives produce the oil by hand; visiting one is a chance to see the process and buy directly from producers.

Featured trip: Essaouira
One of the highlights of the retreat week is the day trip to Essaouira.
Essaouira is a coastal town in Morocco where you can really soak in the local atmosphere. It is a great place for shopping souvenirs, discovering local products, and finding amazing spots for food.
We might be your best guides for coffee and dessert. On our visits we share our favourite food spots, make time for shopping, and enjoy the coastal town at a slow pace.
The retreat day trip also includes a stop at an argan oil cooperative to see how argan oil is made — a perfect pairing with a day of exploring.
