Pack light, but pack smart. The village has small shops for basics, but specialist items are hard to find.
Surf
- Wetsuit suitable for the season (see our season guide).
- Wax for cool water, a spare leash and fins if you bring your own board.
- Reef-friendly sunscreen and a stick for your face; a surf hat or cap for long sessions.
- Booties if you feel unsure on rocks.
Clothes
- Layers: warm days, cool evenings, especially from autumn to spring.
- A windproof jacket and a warm jumper.
- Loose clothes that cover shoulders and knees for the village, markets and towns.
- Sandals and a pair of comfortable walking shoes.
Health
- Any personal medication, with a copy of the prescription.
- A small first-aid kit: plasters, antiseptic, rehydration salts, something for an upset stomach.
- Travel insurance that explicitly covers surfing.
Documents and money
- Passport, and printed copies of bookings and insurance.
- Some cash in Moroccan dirhams for arrival (see money and connectivity).
Nice to have
A refillable water bottle, a headtorch, a good book, earplugs, and a notebook. You may want to write your story for the logbook.
